Masterclass’s sire For Pleasure was a legendary showjumper, and featured on Gold Medal winning teams at two Olympics and two European Championships. He retired aged 20 in 2004, with lifetime earnings of more than 1.8 million Euros.
Damsire Balou Du Rouet has been an incredibly popular sire for owner Paul Schockemohle, producing a huge string of top level showjumpers. He has also made his mark as an eventing sire, and was 8th in WBFSH Sire Rankings in 2021. His most notable progeny include Sarah Bullimore’s top rides Corouet and Reve Du Rouet and Tina Cook’s Billy The Red.
Masterclass began his eventing career in 2021 with Alex Bragg, and the combination have picked up many wins and good placings along the way. He ended his 2023 season on a fantastic high, placing 6th in the British Eventing 7yo Championships at Cornbury, before going on to finish 10th in the 7yo World Championships at Mondial Du Lion with a double clear.
Masterclass has had very good conception rates from limited use by frozen semen. His early progeny have impressed with their lovely type and movement.
